When I graduated high school I had NO IDEA what I wanted to do with my life- or even how to start figuring out that whole process. I took a few college classes, took a few semesters off, went on a mission trip, and eventually graduated with a degree in nursing because that was “a stable career.” Nursing was great for paying the bills- but not much else. I didn’t like hospitals, sick people, blood, or 12 hour shifts. My first two years of nursing were the worst two years of my life. It was so frustrating to feel stuck in a job I never wanted just to pay bills- and I knew I couldn’t do it much longer. The whole time I kept thinking, “There has got to be a better way to do this whole adult job thing!”
Then I discovered Career Coaching- and learned about the steps in the career planning process from personality design to analyzing the job market to find a career that is the best fit for each unique individual. I was so excited to become a Certified Career Coach so I could help students figure out the process of college and career planning in a fun and exciting way. I am passionate about helping others find a job they love and can make money doing because I know from experience that life is too short to hate your job!
